Description
The charming town of Breckenridge, Colorado was established by miners in the 1800s during the Pikes Peak Gold Rush. Settlers built their homes along the Blue River, which now runs parallel to Main Street. Breckenridge became a popular winter destination in the 1960s when residents began to make use of the 160 inches of annual snowfall by creating ski slopes. Its scenic location at the base of the Tenmile Range in the Rocky Mountains makes it a beautiful place at any time of year.
